Good day to all thats reading and listening. I do realize and appologize I should have titled yesterdays post as The Gift Of God's Love instead of God's Love vs. Worldley Love. Even though this reading serries may do some comparisons at times it is simply sharing and showing us these gifts of love God is giving to us.
There are 3 verses it is talking about today although I think the reading seems to focus on Ephisans, which is interesting that in bible study we've talked about/studied this part of chapter 3 for abit. That is really cool that it's mentioned today. Lets take alook and see what today brings.
17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
His Incomprehensible Love The worlds view of Gods love is such a watered-down version of the Truth. They view Him as a benign and insipid force. They think that His love is so unconditional that He will happily overlook all of their faults. They think that God is not concerned about what religion they belong to or what they believe.
As Christians we know that our God is loving and merciful, yet He is also just in His judgments. We know that although His love is not based on our accomplishments, His love is conditional upon Christs death on the Cross and upon our acceptance of that gift.
Our human brains cannot comprehend the infinity of Gods love. The apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians: And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledgethat you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:17-19).
Gods love does not come cheaply; it came at the cost of His own Son. Jesus endured immeasurable physical and emotional pain when He was separated from the Father in order to carry our sins. The perfect, holy, righteous Son of God died in order to pay the wages of our sin. That kind of sacrificial love is incomprehensible. How great is Gods love that He would give Himself for us. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:9-10).
Prayer: God, thank You for Your love which is so great I cannot even comprehend it. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8)
It is so awesome to know God's love surrounds you always. Sometimes it's hard to understnad why when we mess up, but He dose love us unconditionally!
This song which is origionally sung by Selah, an awesome song that just brings you in a moment of praise and worship, sometimes tears too!
Great words, great song and awesome encouragement. God’s love is bottomless and amazing. Thanks!
