TGofGL-Day 4 Loving Him

Hey there! this is today's blog post of The Girft Of God's Love series. This post for today is on Loving Him and how we are to love Him daily and not just once a week. Just like we are surrounded with our family we tell and let them know we love and care for them, we tell our friends we appriciate them, we take care of our pets if we have any and even care for them too.

If we don't take the time to appriciate the people in our lives and love them, how are they supose to know you care? how are they supose to know that they are important in your life? Sometimes there maybe cirrcumstances in life like a friend or family memeber moved away or is passed and  you can't always show you care in person. Maybe your in a dispute atm and you don't feel like caring, but we somehow make it work.

When we settle down then we sometimes say we care or love them or whatever when we want to. Sometimes we are like that with God, some people are just Snday Christians or Monday, or Thursday or whatever one day a week and forget about God the rest of the 6 days. We can't do that, we need to love the Lord like He loves us! Even thugh thre are many commanments to obey, Jesus made this one to be the most important one to keep!

 Mark 12:29-31

29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’[g] 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[h] No other commandment is greater than these.”

Loving Him

God does not want a one-sided relationship with us. He did not send His own Son to die a painful death on the Cross for us so that we will accept His forgiveness and continue our lives without Him. He did not adopt us as His children only to receive the occasional visit in return. He wants a daily, close, personal relationship with us. He wants to see us commit our time and hearts to Him in prayer. He wants us to talk to Him, praise Him, and worship Him every day.

The more we comprehend the magnitude of God’s love for us, the more we will love Him back. The more time we spend in prayer learning about Him and developing a relationship with Him, the more our love for Him will grow.

Spend time in prayer today just adoring Him. Praise Him for His amazing love. Pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you in how to show the immensity of God’s love to the world.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your amazing love which allows me to have a personal relationship with You. Thank You that You want to spend time with me, that You want to hear from me, that You want to have a relationship with me. Help me to model Your love to a world that desperately needs it. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength … Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30-31).

This song I herd at youth group when I was a youth and was my favourite song, I have afew other favourites, but this one my faourite still. Certainly describes God's love too!

  1. Thanks for the thought and the challenge today…

Maybe your in a dispute atm and you don't feel like caring, but we somehow make it work.

I know it's not always fun, and it's hard – man is it hard, but I am trying to care about those that have persecuted me and have never asked forgiveness. Thanks for the challenge. I know I need to love liek God does – and that doesn't mean turning a blind eye when someone does wrong, it means that we need to always be ready and willing to forgive – fully forgive when they ask.

    Thanks Tiggy.

    • sometimes it is very hard as well to step out from hurt and love those that hurt you for sure. It is a challenge at times to love like God. I think we need to be ready to help also when they are in need of it.

your welcome, and thx for sharing your thoughts, always welcome to.
