Happy Valentines Day! Valentines day was yesterday, wasn't able to get this devotion up as I was busy at work early morning and then came home and was tired, wasn't feeling as great with a headach. Hopefully I can stay caught up as this next week may be abit busy with work.
Hopefully you all had a great Valentines Day whether you celebrate with family or your special loved one remember God's love is always unconditional and we need to always seek Him daily. Such as this devotion is talking about God's unconditional love for us.
6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
3 And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life[a] is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
We did absolutely nothing to earn Gods love. We were born into sin; we were at enmity with God. We were unlovable and undeserving. Yet Christ still died for us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:6-8).
Gods love is so abundant that He not only saved us from eternal damnation, but He adopted us as His own children. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1). He changes our very nature upon salvation so that we can become more like Him. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because Gods seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God (1 John 3:9).
Prayer: Thank You, God, for loving me so much that You would adopt me as Your own child even when I could do nothing to deserve it. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).
Excellent thought girl. God's love is amazing and unconditional, but as it states in 1 John 3:9, that doesn't give us the right to keep on being horrible. Instead we need to be thankful, grateful and treat Him like we ought to for giving us an amazing gift.
Thanks for the thought, the encouragement and the insight!
