Good Friday

Today April 18th is Good Friday, for many Christians it's a time of remembering, a time of grieving sometimes, but also a time of celebrating His life when he died on this day.

Today I participate in the walk of the cross with mom and one of my brothers. Different people carried the cross, including my mom and a little boy took turns. We walked with a group of people from 4 different churches that wanted to particiapate.

At the four churches that we stopped at we there was a message and some songs sung at each one. Some did a solo presentation and some did a one man story/play of what happens on Good Friday. Snacks was served at the last church we had stopped at.

After we came home, I took a nap and then woke up ate some yummy baccon and watched the Passion of Christ Movie. I've seen it many times and it's very touching to know what Jesus went through. He had that much love for the people to take on the world's sin. Even when He was arrested in the garden and there was swords swinging, one of the guards ear was chopped off by His deciple, Jesus took the time to heal his ear back together!! and yet they still carried Him away, although I think that one soldier believed he was the one in that moment of healing. He crushed the devil at the foot of the cross! He paid it for us!

We watched the movie on a differnt site that I don't remeber exactly, but I did a quick YouTube serach of the video if your interested. Of course the quality may not be crystal clear, but you can certainly view it. It is gory at times, but it's the real deal and pretty close to the bible from the garden to the cross, quotes familer scriptures from most of the new testimate. It certainly dose make us think He did that all for us that we simply don't deserve.

Isaiah 53:4-6

4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
it was our sorrows[a] that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
5 But he was pierced for our rebellion,
    crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the Lord laid on him
    the sins of us all.

  1. Thanks for the great words and the reminder of why the world celebrates Easter. It is not pretty. It reminds me of a song I learned when I was a kid.

He paid a debt He did not owe.
I owed a debt I could not pay.
I needed Someone to wash my sins away.
    And now I sing a brand-new song.
Amazing grace the whole day long.
Christ Jesus paid a debt, that I could never pay.

    Paid God He is Risen!

    • Thats a cool song. Don’t think I herd it before. It is sad for sure to see what the world thinks Easter is. Glad that He is Risen too!
