Advent Day 12 Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is a neat song with some hidden messages that maybe people don't relise they are singning truth. Most of this song is stating when Jesus gets older he'll come to a time and place in His life where he'll have to lay His life down for the world. Meaning we are able to be born again through Him. The verse in 1 Peter and other verses in the bible simply back up the song in it's lyrics.

3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. 5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Mild He lays His glory by;

Born that man no more may die.

Born to raise the sons of earth;

Born to give them second birth.

It’s fun to look at a tiny baby and imagine what he will grow up to become. It could be anything – a pilot, a policeman, a chef, an astronaut, a pastor, or a million other options. The future is wide open and full of possibilities.

Jesus was born with one purpose. As it says in the carol, he was “born that man no more may die.” His birth was all about our new birth. In 1 Peter 1:3, Peter praises God for the “new birth into a living hope” – and all that is possible because Jesus laid aside his glory and offered Himself in our place, taking the punishment of death we deserved for our sins. His death and resurrection gives us new life. As you go about your business and your busyness of the season, intentionally take a few moments to slow down and remember that Jesus was born to give YOU a second birth. What a reason to praise Him!

Questions:

How do you express your gratitude to Jesus for the new life He gives you?

Who in your life doesn’t yet realize the true reason for Jesus’ birth? What will you do to share it with them?

My Answers:

I thankHim for His birth, for dying and rising from the dead for me so I can go to heaven oneday. If He hadn't of come we'd be still living in the old testimate. I don't think I'd do as well, because I'm not perfect, I mess up afew times here and there in life. I think theres a lot of people in this world it feels that may not know the reason for the season. People from work don't seem to know as much why Christmas is important.I've said alittle bit here and there gaining up courage to say something if they ask or oppertunity comes over the years/months. Don't think anyone has really asked me why Christmas is so awesome. I know I'm making Christmas trees with an angel to top off the tree for work Chritmas party. Maybe if I try and ask the question oneday would give an oppertunity to share.
